Bhopal, May 20 -- The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at AIIMS Bhopal has successfully completed a complex surgery on a 60-year-old farmer from Sagar district suffering from a life-threatening abdominal aortic aneurysm.

The patient had been experiencing abdominal pain for over a year and consulted several hospitals, where doctors detected a 10-centimeter aneurysm in his abdominal aorta. The aneurysm was progressively enlarging, posing a serious risk of rupture. Despite receiving treatment elsewhere, the patient found no relief and subsequently sought care at AIIMS Bhopal's CTVS department.
