Gurugram, June 9 -- In a significant move to protect the ecologically sensitive Aravalli forests, the Forest Department is now turning to artificial intelligence (AI) for fire detection and prevention. The Forest Survey of India (FSI) will deploy satellite-based remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) equipment to monitor the region in real-time," officials said.
According to officials, the new AI-powered system will detect fire incidents occurring over areas as small as ten meters within the Aravalli forests.
