India, Nov. 11 -- A high-intensity explosion on Monday ripped through one of the busiest intersection in the Capital, near the Red Fort metro station, killing 13 people and injuring over two dozen people. The injured were rushed to the nearby Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital.
The blast reportedly occurred in a parked vehicle gutting, at least, 25 four-wheelers parked nearby. It also shattered windows of vehicles parked several metres away. The explosion was heard at ITO, a few kilometres away.
Following the blast, Mumbai, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were put on high alert.
