New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has accorded "Z" category VIP security consisting of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the aftermath of the assault incident on her on Wednesday.
As per police sources, CRPF will now handle the internal security ring around the CM following a threat perception report prepared by central intelligence agencies, while Delhi Police personnel will manage the outer perimeter.
The CM's security cover is generally handled by the security division of the Delhi Police, who are also responsible for providing security to other ministers.
