Bhopal, Jan. 28 -- Days after District Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh ordered a ban on the use of sound amplification devices between 10 PM and 6 AM, checking squads have taken down 70 loudspeakers from various places in the city for failing to comply.

Teams led by Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) have been ensuring compliance with the order since it was issued four days ago.

District authorities said that 70 loudspeakers, including 30 from the Kolar area alone, have been seized for failing to adhere to the sound pollution guidelines.
