Bhopal, June 5 -- The district administration on Wednesday escalated flood and monsoon readiness with a citywide drain clean-up and region-wide emergency planning to prevent waterlogging, dam overflows, and rainfall-related disruptions this season.

Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh directed all districts in the Bhopal division to activate flood control rooms, appoint nodal officers, and ensure the rapid availability of resources for emergency action.

In a video conference with collectors and officials, Singh stressed the importance of identifying and removing encroachments near rivers, culverts, and settlements prone to flooding during intense rainfall.
