Prayagraj, Feb. 16 -- A late Friday night accident claimed the lives of 10 pilgrims and left 19 others injured. The incident occurred on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway in Meja.
According to police reports, a Bolero carrying pilgrims collided head-on with a bus. All 10 occupants of the Bolero died on the spot.
The deceased were residents of Korba district in Chhattisgarh and were on their way to the Sangam for a holy dip.
The bus, carrying pilgrims from Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, was returning from the Sangam and heading toward Varanasi when the accident took place. Nineteen passengers onboard sustained injuries and were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Ramnagar for treatment.
