Jammu, July 8 -- Over 90,000 pilgrims performing the Amarnath yatra in the first five days have raised hopes of the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir reeling under the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.
The increasing rush of pilgrims has prompted the Union territory administration to issue at least 5000 tokens daily to accommodate the maximum number of pilgrims.
Ahead of the yatra, the UT administration had decided to throw open a few tourist hotspots after conducting a fresh security audit.
A fresh proposal to reopen a few more popular tourist places is under the active
consideration of the UT authorities.
