India, Oct. 4 -- The eighth North-East Students' Festival (NESt) began at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium here on Friday, bringing together thousands of students, policymakers and artists for a two-day celebration of culture, youth empowerment and sustainability.
Organised by voluntary organisation My Home India, the two-day festival, whose theme this year is "From Culture to Climate: The Youth Mandate", features sessions on entrepreneurship, sustainability and rainwater harvesting, alongside cultural performances from all eight North-Eastern states, as well as Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Expected to be attended by 25,000 students, the festival is positioned as both a "celebration of heritage and a platform for dialogue on future challenges".
