Garhwa, April 16 -- In a series of tragic incidents over two days, six children drowned in separate bodies of water within the district.
On Tuesday, four children drowned in a government quarry located in Udsuggi village, within the Garhwa police station area. The victims, aged between 8 and 16, were identified as Lakki Kumar, 8, son of Avadhesh Ram; Akshay Kumar, 12, son of Santosh Ram; Narayan Chandravanshi, 16, son of Babulaal Chandravanshi; and Hariom Chandravanshi, 13.
Reports indicate the children had left their homes to play before entering a water-filled pit adjacent to a small pond. The depth of the pit is believed to have contributed to the drownings. Villagers were alerted to the incident, but were unable to rescue the children...
