NEW DELHI, July 24 -- As many as 56 lakh electors not found at their addresses during the exercise of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral roll, have so far been reported as deceased, permanently shifted, enrolled at multiple places or simply "not traceable".

Sharing details of SIR of Bihar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday said these 56 lakh electors of which 20 lakh are reported as deceased, over 28 lakh as permanently shifted, 7.5 lakh as enrolled at multiple places and one lakh as "not traceable," comprise over 7 per cent of Bihar's 7.9 crore electorate as it stood on June 24, 2025.
