Jamshedpur, April 26 -- In a strong move towards improving road safety and enforcing traffic discipline, the transport department of East Singhbhum district suspended the driving licenses of 533 drivers in March for violating traffic rules. Simultaneously, authorities collected a hefty fine of Rs.31,51,000 during a month-long vehicle-checking campaign targeting helmetless riders, seatbelt violators, and other defaulters. This decisive action was part of a broader strategy reviewed during a Traffic and Road Safety Committee meeting held at the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur, under the directions of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.
