Chandigarh, April 16 -- The Punjab Government has decided to increase the promotion quota for Principals from 50% to 75%, paving the way for the elevation of 500 teachers as Principals in government schools across the state, Harjot Singh Bains, Minister of School Education, said on Tuesday. Bains lamented that the Congress led state government had reduced this quota from 75% to 50% in 2018, leading to a shortage of principals in government schools across the state.
