Garhwa, Feb. 9 -- On Saturday, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Garhwa Sadar inspected six brick kilns. This was ordered by the Deputy Commissioner of Garhwa, Shekhar Jamuar. The inspection found five child labourers working at two kilns. The SDO rescued the children and ordered counselling and rehabilitation. The employers were reported to the police.
The SDO warned all kiln owners to follow the rules. Any kiln breaking the rules would be closed down. The owners were told to pay fair wages, make sure working conditions were safe, and not make too many bricks.
