DEHRADUN, Oct. 24 -- With the upcoming festival season, Dehradun district administration has received about 450 applications for temporary licence to sell fire crackers. The City Magistrate, Chander Singh Martoliya, said that the applications are under process. They are waiting for the police reports to start issuing licences. Non-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from district are required for that.

According to the district administration, the areas where fire fighting vehicles will not be able to go during the time of emergency will be banned from selling fire crackers. The areas included Dhamawala, few parts of Paltan Bazaar, Moti Bazaar and Ghosi Gali.
