New Delhi, July 20 -- At least 41.64 lakh voters were not found at their addresses so far and it appears to be either deceased, permanently shifted, or registered in multiple places.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), with around 41.64 lakh electors, comprising 5.27 per cent of Bihar's total 7.89 crore electorate, had been found to be "probably" deceased, permanently shifted or enrolled at multiple places despite the booth level officers (BLOs) having completed their three mandatory visits.
The ECI said nearly 14.29 lakh or 1.84 percent voters had been found to be probably deceased while 19,74 lakh or 2.5 percent found to be probably permanently shifted. The EC also said nearly 7.5 lakh voters were identified as enrolled...
