Jamshedpur, July 5 -- Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security forces successfully foiled a major attempt by the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit to target police and paramilitary personnel in West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.

According to police sources, intelligence received on July 4 indicated that Maoist cadres under the leadership of notorious commanders were mobilizing in Kolhan region to carry out disruptive activities against security forces.
