Chandigarh, May 26 -- In the backdrop of the commitment of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to send back the willing migrant labourers to their home states, 2.90 lakh such laboureres have so far been sent to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, north eastern states and other states of the country by 77 trains and 5,500 buses till Monday.

An expenditure of over Rs 10 crore has been made on the transportation of migrant labourers in a safe and systematic manner, a government statement said on Monday.
