2 farm Bills pushed through RS amid ruckus
New Delhi, Sept. 21 -- The Rajya Sabha on Sunday passed two key farm Bills amid an unprecedented ruckus as Opposition members rushed in the Well against the Covid-19 protocol, tore off documents, yanked mikes fixed to the Chairman's desk and threw Parliament rule book at the presiding officer, Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narain Singh.
The ruling party managed to push through both the controversial farm Bills - Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 - of the three it had proposed and got passed in the Lok Sabha amid uproar from Opposition MPs.
