India, Sept. 27 -- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday confirmed that 2,417 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States between January 20 and September 25, marking a continued trend of strict immigration enforcement under the current US administration.

The issue has gained renewed attention following the high-profile repatriation of Harjit Kaur, a 73-year-old Sikh woman from Punjab, who had been living in the US for nearly 30 years without legal status.
