New Delhi, July 3 -- A 19-year-old woman in is battling for her life after she allegedly consumed acid in a suicide attempt after the man she had been in a relationship with for seven years refused to marry her despite repeated assurances.
The accused, identified as Rehan, has been arrested, police said.
Police said they received information from a hospital on June 18 regarding a suicide attempt by a young woman.
When the investigating officer reached the hospital, he collected the medical documents which stated that the woman was unfit to give a statement.
