India, Oct. 12 -- Madhya Pradesh's Government school system is facing one of its most alarming crises in recent years, with over 14 lakh children dropping out of school and thousands of institutions recording negligible or zero new admissions this academic year.
The data, compiled by the State education department, paints a grim picture of declining enrolment and growing parental disillusionment with the quality of Government education.
According to official figures, nearly 4,000 schools across the State did not see a single new admission this year, while over 7,700 schools admitted fewer than ten students each.
