India, Jan. 26 -- On the eve of the 77th Republic Day, the President of India has conferred medals upon 13 officers and personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in recognition of their distinguished and meritorious service.

The honours include the President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). Two senior officials, Inspector General Ganesh Kumar (IPS) and Inspector General Sudhir Verma, have been awarded the prestigious PSM for their exemplary careers and outstanding contributions to the force.
