New Delhi, Feb. 10 -- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said ten years of dedicated efforts by the Modi regime have put economy back on rails and "we corrected all misgovernance." She also said big ticket corruptions during UPA tenure averaged one each year and common people were disillusioned.

Making these assertions in here reply to a debate in the Lok Sabha on the 'White Paper on Indian Economy and its impact on the lives of people of India,' she also said national security was compromised, environment clearances delayed and leadership failed during UPA period of 10 years.

Sitharaman also said the Modi government more than doubled defence budget to Rs 6.22 lakh crore for FY25 from Rs 2.53 lakh crore in 2013-14.
