Bhopal, March 24 -- A total of 1,656 people have lost their lives in road accidents across Madhya Pradesh over the past one and a half months, with 202 fatalities reported along the MP border during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav provided this information while responding to a question raised by MLA Dinesh Rai Munmun in the State Assembly.

According to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the deceased included 1,444 men, 50 women, and 8 children. He emphasized that a significant number of these fatalities could have been prevented with proper safety measures, as 152 people died due to not wearing helmets, while 26 lost their lives for failing to wear seat belts.
