New Delhi, April 27 -- Public Works Department (PWD) minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Saturday said the Delhi Government is likely to scrap a streetscaping project launched during the Aam Aadmi Party rule in the capital.

The project was launched in 2020 by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government with the aim of road beautification.

However, due to the high costs of the project, the BJP government is now planning to scrap it. "The high costs involved with the project make it impossible for the government to carry it forward. We are first focusing on improving the basic issues such as repairing potholes, proper illumination of roads and reducing traffic congestion. We will not continue with this project," Verma said.
