Manila, April 15 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday ordered a "full crackdown" on reckless public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call for stricter road discipline.

In a statement, LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said the crackdown is in response to recent road incidents in Commonwealth Avenue and Valenzuela involving "kamote" PUV drivers who ignore traffic rules and endanger passengers and other motorists.

"The President is right. This has to stop. These drivers are a threat to public safety, and we will take them off the road," Guadiz said.
