MANILA, Feb. 3 -- Zamboanga International Airport will not close for repairs, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) clarified on Monday.

CAAP's statement comes after a recent social media post claiming that the airport will close for a month in March for repair works.

The CAAP said it "strongly refutes misleading and unverified claims regarding the alleged temporary closure of Zamboanga International Airport for repairs."

"We emphasize that this information is false and that the airport remains fully operational," CAAP said in a press release.

The CAAP did not provide specific link/s to the "unverified reports", but both its spokesperson and information officer said they were referring to a Facebook post.
