Manila, Jan. 21 -- Fugitive former lawmaker Zaldy Co has reportedly sent "feelers" expressing his intention for a dialogue, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Wednesday.

In an interview at Camp Crame, Remulla said Co sent feelers to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla through his contacts in the clergy.

"He sent feelers through some of the priests he knew. They asked to connect with us to have a dialogue... Not through me, through the Ombudsman," Remulla said.

"Of course, that's not verified. They've just reached out. A friend of a friend reached out," he added.

Remulla said they are open for a dialogue with Co unless it is about bribery.
