Manila, Nov. 28 -- Water remained the main carrier of commodities traded within the country during the third quarter (Q3) of the year. Domestically traded commodities transported through water totaled 2,293,409 tons valued at PHP91.185 billion, according to preliminary data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Thursday. Air-borne commodities traded nationwide reached 1,152 tons worth PHP7.34 million.
In 2019, domestic trading covered 5,969,318 tons of water-transported commodities and 9,532 tons of air-borne commodities, totaling PHP227.961 billion and PHP380.922 million, respectively.
