Manila, Feb. 20 -- Police are searching for the gunmen who wounded a village official and her husband in Isabela City, Basilan province.

Lt. Col. Raymond Sanson, Isabela City Police chief, on Thursday identified the victims as Rowena Repono, 51, a councilor from Barangay Eastside, and her husband, Dominick, 54.

Sanson said the shooting occurred at about 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday.

The couple was riding a motorcycle when they were shot, according to an initial investigation.
