Manila, Nov. 10 -- Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) continued to weaken as it moved farther away from the Ilocos Region on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The center of Uwan was estimated at 175 km. west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur as it packs maximum sustained winds of 120 km. per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 150 kph, according to PAGASA's 5 p.m. bulletin.

It is moving northwestward at 10 kph, with strong to typhoon-force winds extending outward up to 850 km. from its center.
