Manila, July 10 -- The Urdaneta City public library is utilizing both physical books and electronic devices in its aim to boost literacy and comprehension while promoting responsible use of digital technology.

In a phone interview on Thursday, Urdaneta City librarian Bernardine Gravela said physical books need not compete with gadgets, especially in the learning of younger generations.

"Our children now are digital natives, they are digital natives. We don't want to give a negative impression that e-books or e-gadgets are lesser effective.
