Manila, March 31 -- The University of the Philippines clobbered the University of the East, 4-1, to keep solo the third position in the UAAP Season 87 men's tennis tournament at the Felicisimo Ampon Tennis Center in Malate, Manila last Sunday.

Andrei Jarata and Karl Miguel prevailed over Kent Morales and RJ Baje, 7-5, 6-4, in the second doubles match of the best-of-five tie as the Fighting Maroons finished the preliminary round with an 8-4 slate.

"I'm very satisfied with our victory and the individual performances," said the 19-year-old Jarata in an interview on Monday.

"It also felt nice that we were able to get back at them after losing in Season 86," he added.
