Manila, June 20 -- The United Kingdom is hoping to double its bilateral trade with the Philippines in the next three to four years, its special envoy to Manila said Friday.
In a media roundtable in Makati City, UK Trade Envoy to the Philippines George Freeman MP said the UK is looking to identify strategic projects and partnerships in the fields where potentials for development are huge.
These areas, he said, could span various sectors covering cybersecurity and health, specifically on health technology, clinical trials, and vaccines.
"I think the days of purely transactional trade and investment are changing, and in a dangerous world, we need to be deepening the partnership," he said.
