MANILA, March 5 -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has welcomed the recognition of University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) degrees by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In an interview on Wednesday, CFO Secretary Dante Ang II underscored the importance of this equivalency recognition as it would pave the way for better opportunities for Filipinos abroad.
"Equivalency is a big help for Filipino professionals working abroad. That allows them to practice their trade and get the same recognition that they enjoy here in the Philippines," Ang said.
