Manila, Sept. 18 -- The prevailing southwest monsoon or "habagat" and the trough of Tropical Storm (TS) Mitag (formerly Tropical Depression Mirasol) will cause rains in some parts of the country, the weather bureau said Thursday afternoon.

Mitag was traced 465 km. west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The cyclone's trough will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.

The same weather conditions will prevail in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Islan...
