MANILA, Nov. 25 -- Timor-Leste is eager to see investments and workers from the Philippines and other Southeast Asian nations as it seeks to develop the multibillion dollar Greater Sunrise gas fields in the Timor Sea.
At the Foreign Service Institute lecture series in Pasay City on Tuesday, Timor-Leste Ambassador to the Philippines Marciano Octavio Garcia Da Silva said talks are ongoing between Australia and Timor-Leste to channel gas from the undeveloped gas fields to a plant in the Southeast Asian state.
"We are now working with Australia to bring in oil into our shore, and that's going to generate job opportunities not only for Timorese," he said.
