Manila, Jan. 6 -- Thousands of devotees are expected to take part in the traditional "pahalik," a key event of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno that will begin Wednesday evening at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
"The number is very fluid, but it is always in the thousands," Alex Irasga, technical adviser of Quiapo Church, said in an interview Tuesday.
Irasga said security personnel have been deployed to ensure the smooth and orderly flow of devotees during the activity, which will run until Friday.
"The 'pahalik' is usually the most orderly event we have," he added.
Devotees are advised to queue at South Drive or Kalaw Avenue Extension in front of the Rizal Park Hotel. The exit point will also be at South Drive.
