Manila, Oct. 28 -- A recent Social Weather Stations survey revealed that money and health are among the top reasons for stress experienced by most Filipinos. In a country with limited social support, this burden is heavier for senior citizens -many of whom grapple with rising medical costs and dwindling savings yet continue to work out of necessity to support their basic needs.
The unfortunate reality is that for many, aging in the Philippines often comes hand-in-hand with financial vulnerability, given the limited social benefits afforded to the elderly.
