TACLOBAN CITY, Oct. 10 -- The city government here and other areas in Eastern Visayas ordered the suspension of classes in all levels and work in government offices starting Friday afternoon, following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck off the coast of Manay, Davao Oriental.

Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued Executive Order No. 2025-10-57 declaring class and work suspensions as a precautionary measure, although tsunami warnings have been terminated as of posting time.

Mayor Remedios Petilla of nearby Palo also issued a similar suspension.
