Manila, Jan. 7 -- A ranking naval official said the Stratbase-commissioned Pulse Asia survey that had Filipinos overwhelmingly trust the country's allies in the ongoing West Philippine Sea (WPS) row with China indicates that the public now understands the issues surrounding the vital waterway.

"Ito ay nakakatuwa, ito ay nakakalakas ng loob namin sapagkat nakikita natin na yung ating kababayan ay naintindihan nila ang issue sa WPS (we are overjoyed, this development further boosted our confidence now that we saw our countrymen understanding the WPS issue)," PN spokesperson for the WPS Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad said in an interview with reporters Tuesday.
