Manila, Nov. 8 -- The risk of "life-threatening storm surge" within the next 48 hours is high in at least 26 areas across the country, including the National Capital Region (NCR), as Typhoon Uwan moves toward Luzon.
In an advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said storm surge heights of more than three meters are forecast in Albay, Aurora, Cagayan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Isabela, La Union, Pangasinan, Quezon and Sorsogon.
Storm surge heights between 2.1 to three meters are also expected in La Union, Pangasinan and Northern Samar.
