Manila, April 15 -- The local stock market continued to rise during Tuesday's trading, nearing the 6,200 mark, with the Philippine peso also returning to the 56 level.
The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose 0.66 percent to 6,186.10, with All Shares improving by 0.52 percent to 3,646.65 points.
"Philippine shares pushed closer to the 6200 level as sentiment continued to improve with the markets calming down before the Easter holiday," Regina Capital Development Corp. head of sales Luis Limlingan said.
"Sentiment also got a boost from US stocks rose, which rose Monday, led by tech gains after President Trump temporarily exempted smartphones, computers, and chips from new tariffs."
