Manila, Aug. 3 -- Scattered rains will be experienced in some areas of the country due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat" affecting northern Luzon, the weather bureau said Sunday.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Batanes will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.
Moderate to at times heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon.
