Manila, Jan. 30 -- Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Friday said he may now support moves to reform the Constitution following the Supreme Court ruling that declared the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte unconstitutional.
In a virtual press briefing, Sotto said the ruling altered the constitutional design of impeachment and may take decades to undo through jurisprudence alone.
"Ako, ayaw ko ng con-con, ayoko ng constituent assembly. Pero kapagka ganyan ang usapan, payag na ako (I do not like a constitutional convention, I do not like a constituent assembly. But if this is the situation, I am willing)," he said.
He warned that the decision could leave Congress with no choice but to amend the 1987 Constitution...
