Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to rule on the PHP3.19 billion contract signed seven years ago by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) with a German firm for its digital database platform.
In its 10-page motion to resolve dated Sept. 9, Solicitor General Darlene Marie Berberabe sought the issuance of a restraining order from the SC and urged the court to "void the contract between the LTO and German Dermalog joint venture" for the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).
Berberabe said the LTMS "is unreliable, dangerous, and poses a greater threat to the interest of the State and to national security."
