Manila, June 17 -- Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Tuesday underscored the need to adopt a cost-sharing scheme with local government units and to tap public-private partnerships (PPPs) to address gaps in school infrastructure and services nationwide.
Gatchalian said the approach would fast-track improvements in schools, especially in underserved areas.
"Let me reiterate my previous proposals such as public-private partnerships and a counterpart program, where the national government and local government units share the cost of building basic education facilities," he said in a statement.
