Manila, Feb. 14 -- There must be increased information campaign against online love scams following the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) report of eight cases in January.
Last year, there were a total of 72 cases.
Senator Joel Villanueva is urging authorities to enhance public awareness while advocating for responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in fighting cybercrime.
In a news release on Friday, he emphasized the need for technology to be a force for good, rather than a tool for exploitation.
"Technology should serve to uplift lives, not cause suffering. Let's ensure AI is used for good," he said.
