Manila, Nov. 18 -- The Philippine Navy (PN) on Tuesday denied claims that Orly Guteza, a witness in the Senate investigation into alleged corruption in government flood control projects, is under the custody of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC).

"Claims that the PN, particularly the Philippine Marine Corps, is holding, detailed, protecting, or placing under its custody Mr. Orly Guteza and his family are mere speculation," PN spokesperson Capt. Marissa Martinez said in a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo.

"These allegations are unfounded, unsupported by evidence, and have no basis in fact."
